This is my first review so I thought it be wise for it be based on one of my favourite products of all time and Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in " La Sensuelle" instantly popped to my mind! Every girl has a signature lippy that gets pulled out when a special occasion arises ....or tbh whenever you just want to look absolutely fabulous and Chanel's Rouge Allure Velvet in No.40 "La Sensuelle" is exactly that for me!
Chanel describes the lipstick as:
"Elevating matte to a new elegance, this next-generation, non-drying matte lipstick glides on lips with intensely rich colour and a sumptuously soft, velvet matte finish."
I can not argue with them one bit. This is one of the most moisturising matte lipstick I own. I LOVE matte lipsticks and hate having to put up with the subsequent effects of it...dry lips! However Chanel have come up with an amazing formula which give that beautiful matte look but also holds a moisturising and creamy texture. It is also highly pigmented so I just need one swipe of this and I'm good to go! I do prep my lips before because being a matte lipstick you still do need moisturised lips before application but its oh so worth it and effortlessly gives a silky satin but matte finish. This red, I would describe as a berry red, it is absolutely lush and would suit an array of skin tone especially olive to darker tones.
What I love about chanel is that you get what you pay for. Though this lipstick is rather expensive, the packaging makes up for it. Its elegant sleek black and gold design is stunning and makes any girl feel super duper rich! And using it is so much fun unlike your normal lipstick where you'd pull the cap off this beauty is unlocked by pressing the channel logo in the gold inner case and voila!... your lipstick pops out (I feel like a secret agent when using this :P)The wear of this tends is quite good! I put this on before work at 9am and its still going strong come 3pm after lunch and coffee so I get around 6 hours out of it! It wears off evenly through out the day and still manages to looks stunning that sometimes I feel no need to touch up, which is a huge bonus because with work and uni I have no time to be touching up my makep every other hour.
I am in love with plums and reds, they are just my thing and I find they suit my skin tone quite well. This is my go to red lipstick, I really can not get enough of it and would highly recommend this to others. They are priced at around £23 so they quite expensive so try before you by to avoid disappointment but to be honest how could you ever be disappointed by Chanel?
